SCP: Unity is the much better looking of the two, and has some experiences you won’t get from containment breach, but it is currently still in development. SCP: Unity is a separate game from SCP: Containment Breach. I have already downloaded PlayonMac and Wine to try and run the games but they haven't worked and I'm running out of space, so Idk what I'm doing wrong.

I want to thank everyone for the tips and help they gave, it really helped me understand the SCP game series as a whole, however, I have discovered that the game is a Windows-only game and I own a Macbook, and I have had difficulty in the past configuring games from Windows to Mac using downloaded plugins, so rather than spending countless hours stressing over what's breaking on my computer that prevents the game from working, (and spending my laptop storage), I'm going to just watch some playthroughs of both games unless some computer wizard can tell me what I need to get to help. Is Unity just an up to date version of the original CB or are they two separate games and if so which one should I get?

I've recently been introduced to the SCP games and wanted to download one for my Macbook, and I've found a file for SCP: Containment Breach, which I already downloaded, but it looked out of date from some YouTube videos I had seen, so I found out about SCP: CB-Unity and I'm confused. If you’ve played other horror games before, you’ve likely seen all of the tricks it has up its sleeve including jump scares, scary static, confusing hallways, and more. Within the survival horror genre, SCP: Containment Breach doesn’t really offer anything special. The crazy, labyrinthine hallways of the SCP Foundation are still present in the Unity remake, but they are far more numerous and confusing than before. The scope of the game is also much larger than the original game. Most of the SCPs in the will one-hit-kill you, but the new SCPs and locations have more gradual effects on the character. In terms of gameplay, there is really only one new mechanic and that’s the addition of a health bar.

There are also brand new SCPs included in the Unity remake, making it much more dangerous and difficult than before. While the original still featured uncanny blocky 3D graphics, the Unity remake has much more realistic designs and proportions.

The most obvious upgrade in the SCP: Containment Breach - Unity remake is in its graphics. You must interact with your surroundings while trying to find the exits. All you have are two bars at the bottom of the screen that shows your eye blink meter and your stamina. During a containment breach in the facility, you must survive while the dangerous SCPs are roaming around and threatening your life. In the original SCP: Containment Breach, you play as a Class-D test subject.
